THE PROCESS OF PAINTED IN ALUMINUM

Treatment consists of lacquer and paint to protect the surface of the aluminum profile with a homogeneous layer of paint, that in the case of aluminum powder will normally. Is applied by spraying resin powder electrostatically deposited to obtain the thickness of protective layer of pigmented resin. As a final step, the layer hardens taking it to an oven.

For coating, profiles go through several processes.

Degreasing
Was the degreasing profiles by immersion in a bath with mildly alkaline products. During this stage the metal of oil, grease and powdery impurities that may present is conditioned and clean.

Rinse
Rinsing is performed with demineralized water to remove possible leftovers.

I chromated
Forming a chromate coating on the metal, chromium plating bath immersion at room temperature, to maximize the benefits of corrosion resistance and enhance the grip of the paint. The Chromate is the most important phase, where time and manner of application determines the corrosion behavior, and environmental agents. The profile is immersed in a chromic acid solution with the surface stabilizers transforming this zinc chromate, producing a controlled oxidation, and creating an inert layer of chromium and aluminum oxides. This process allows greater penetration and stability of picture, providing protection profile.

Washing
Is carried out with demineralized, deionized water and followed by drying in oven to dry the profiles reaching the spray booth.

Oven drying
The material is placed in an oven to dry at 65° C, for times comprised between 30-60 minutes depending on the degree of humidity that the metal present.

Paint booth
Once the dry material, it is then coated inside the spray booth. In the spray booth profiles powder pulverized polyester resin. Leaving the projection powder guns, powder particles are electrically charged by the action of a positive electric field. Since aluminum profiles are connected to ground with a negative potential, the powder is attracted and deposited on the surfaces of the profiles. Powder coating is used, has the same components as a conventional paint, but without incorporating the solvent.

This paint contains pigments and fillers, additives and essentially resins which confer formation, well attached to the surface and act as a barrier against moisture and solid continuous paint film. All our profiles are brought from the manufacturer to ensure maximum paint adhesion and are approved by the Quality Standards Qualicoat.

Thermoset
Takes curing oven. After applying the powder on the profiles, they are going to heat curing oven where the resin is performed reaching a temperature of 220° C. The course of the profiles inside the furnace lasts about 35 minutes. This heat treatment causes melting of the powder particles by providing a uniform protective film. The layer thicknesses obtained are usually very uniform.

Other coating processes that enhance their performance are lacquer or marine grade sea side. The marine grade lacquer is a process that improves the performance of the coating in environments that may cause further corrosion, such as frontline sea. This process is to increase the recess in the surface of the material with a higher attack aluminum + 2 g/m in order to establish its surface for better conditions and subsequent chromate coating. What benefits the penetration and grip coating. Pretreatment " sea side or marine grade " is a process approved by Qualicoat.

The lacquered "PVDF", consists of a series of overlapping protective layers to prevent wear and degradation to the solarium and generally aggressive environments. The drying temperature in the oven reaches 240°.

ALUMINUM COLORS

The colors in aluminum, identified in the RAL. RAL (German original acronym Reichsausschuss fuer Lieferbedingungen), is one of the letters with the standard colors are governed in Europe, now reaching up to 210 shades of different colors.

The colors in the RAL, for better identification and distribution, are numbered with four digits, the first of which belongs to the main color family identified. Thus, the 1 belongs to yellows , oranges 2 to 3 - Red, 4 -purple 5 - blue, 6 - Green, 7- gray, 8- brown 9- black and white (eg color 6005 is green, the color is blue 5010).

In aluminum, these colors are divided into standard and special RAL RAL. Standard colors are used much more and and tones depend on the coater.

Within RAL colors we can find small differences in tone depending on the manufacturer of the paint, as this legislation allows these differences. For some years the paint manufacturers are introducing other colors in the painting process in aluminum profiles, lacquered Metallic, Textured, Mates, Ultradurables, etc.

Exist a variety of these colors that these no longer covered by any rules in regards to color tone, this being different for each manufacturer.

Finishing Color "wood"

The lacquered profiles nonuniform color with streaks of a different color, trying to mimic the look of wood surface, is what is commonly known as " lacquered wood." A normal layer of lacquer is applied to the profile and subsequently transferring an image on the painted surface is made.

In the wood effect, bars perfectly imitate wood. To achieve this, the bars are pre- coated on a basis finish depending on the final effect and tone of the wood we want to obtain, on the basis finish a polymerized paint that comes in sheets, bag-shaped, and with drawing applies required knots or grain of the wood that we want to imitate. These sheets are attached to the material, once formed the emptiness in these bags. The bagged material enters a furnace, in which heat is transferred to paint such materials. obtaining a result virtually identical to that of natural wood. We can choose smooth lacquered wood, similar to the sanded and varnished natural wood, textured and lacquered wood, which mimics natural varnished wood without sanding, ie coarser to the touch.

The color tones vary depending on the manufacturer of the paint, some of the most common colors Pine Knot, clear pine, ash, walnut, teak, sapele, cherry, oak, chestnut, etc.

All these treatments are performed under strict control of respect for the environment. The paints used are lead.
